Podcast on Psychotherapy with Soul

Back in February 2020, 6 weeks before COVID-19 hit stateside, I had the pleasure of recording a podcast with psychotherapist and author Kimberly Wilson on her podcast series Tranquility du Jour.

I’ve known Kimberly and her work for nearly 15 years(!). She’s been my yoga teacher in workshops here in San Francisco and abroad in Europe. Kimberly has also been a steady source of inspiration on integrating creativity and mindfulness into everyday life.

In the podcast, we talked about how to infuse everyday life with soul, and exactly what I mean when I say that I do “psychotherapy with soul.” In short, psychotherapy with soul is:

  • A place to fill your cup—Therapy not only provides a place to tend to your sorrows, wounds, and regrets. It’s also a place to gather nourishment, amplify your strengths and passions, and stoke your life force and creativity. If you desire, therapy can also be a place to explore spiritual and existential matters.

  • Empowering—You are the ultimate expert on yourself and your life. Therapy is a collaboration between you and the therapist.

  • Genuine—The therapist is real, warm, sincere, and human, as well as professional.

  • Heartfelt—Vulnerability, authenticity, and humor are welcome.

  • Integrative—The whole person is considered (mind/body/spirit), not just the symptoms.
